Contact Your House and Senate Representatives!

Hello Union Family,

I’m sure most of you all have already heard that an Executive Order was signed on Tuesday with regards to independent agencies of the Executive Branch to report to the White House.

What this means is that the President could soon sign an executive order in the coming days that would fire the postal service’s chain-of-command and place the USPS under the control of the U.S. Department of Commerce.

Is this legal? No.

APWU National President Mark Dimondstein, said in a response “Any attack on the postal service would be part of the billionaire oligarch coup, directed not just at the postal workers our union represents, but the millions of Americans who rely on the critical public service our members provide every single day”

I encourage all of you to go to eOPF and get your personnel file.  Print it, download it, and have copies.  Now is the time to get involved in the Union.  We need you.

I encourage writing letters to your newspapers, writing letters to or calling your House and Senate representatives, and talking to your friends and neighbors.

Yours in Solidarity,

Kim Maurer, Local 7019 President
